JIU JITSU

Jiu Jitsu (Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, BJJ) is first and foremost a self defense art. It takes a practical approach to addressing common self-defense situations. Through the regular practice of non-violent grappling techniques, students learn how to control an aggressive adversary without resorting to violent tactics. The sport aspect of jiu jitsu allows these techniques to be practiced against a knowledgeable, resisting opponent in a safe and controlled manner.

Jiu Jitsu yields numerous benefits for both the mind and body. Weight loss, increased strength and stamina, greater mental acuity and improved self-confidence are but a handful of the lauded benefits of the art. It is no surprise then that millions of people across the globe train jiu jitsu on a daily basis.
